Regardless of what the OP-ED piece says, here is a perfect example of where the voice of Democratic Party becomes muffled.

Kristof: "Do Democrats really want to join the scaremongering on the Dubai ports deal? "

--Throw this question about the argument of port security into the public arena to confuse the issue...

--Remind Democrats that they will be viewed as racists if they take a stand and say no to this issue...

--Appeal to the intellectual crowd to debate the merits of the debate...

Really, isn't this how the GOP moves the argument away from their failures to make the issue the Democrats?
