Saddam Hussein is dead

Does anyone get the Saddam thing? I certainly don't. Of all the corrupt dictators there are in the world, why did we decide that we had to go after this one? I don't get it. They kill him during the Christmas season. People will feel sympathy for him.

And he was found guilty of killing Kurds in for deaths of 148 Shiites in 1982? According to Samantha Power's book, "A Problem from Hell" which won a Pulitzer, we were selling him the chemicals knowing that they might be used to gas the Kurds. All we did was look the other way. We could have elected to not sell him the chemicals, but the chemical companies were worried that it might hurt their bottom line. So they just winked and looked the other way.

Now he's dead. Are we ever going to find out the real reason we went to Iraq and went after Saddam?
